Do you have the skills to produce technically-sound websites but find yourself stumped when it comes to developing a creative UI? Do you know the components to web development but aren’t sure how the pieces fit together in the professional world? THREAD is seeking a web development intern to participate in the development of a wide variety of websites.

Our interns gain real world experience in a professional environment through exposure to the daily processes involved in producing websites:

• design presentations
• collaboration with photographers, illustrators, artists, and writers
• production of web based graphics
• maintaining productive client relations through all aspects of development from shaping the
• site architecture to rapid prototyping and development
• project management, scheduling, and administrative details
• research
• archiving and maintenance

Our interns have the opportunity to work both independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a collaborative team.

The opportunity to transition into paid contract work may be granted to qualified individuals.

• must have working knowledge of (X)HTML
• basic knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
• experience with Photoshop
• knowledge of web usability and accessibility guidelines on all coded sites
• can work on a Mac platform using the Studio MX suite
• must be able to commute to Elliott/Interbay

• is self-motivated and self-managed to meet deadlines
• possesses strong organizational skills and is able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• has a problem-solving and process-oriented mindset
• possesses exceptional attention to detail
• takes initiative and works well with a team
